As Mayor, a top priority was to enhance the image and utilization of one the city’s finest public resources, Payne Park, thus, the concept of the SSF was born. The festival looks to be a day of exciting competitive events, and we anticipate many Sarasota families attending and participating in a day of health, fitness and fun.  There will be a sanctioned tennis event, a family fun run, BMX exhibition, Strider bike lessons and race (Strider.com), Disc Golf, skateboarding competitions and outdoor exercise classes throughout the day.  Also, the festival will start with the opening of the new “Circus Themed” playground as an added recreational event!
